- New, 2-megapixel HD cameras running at 64 frames-per-second
One
of very few cameras that can provide 60+ fps HDTV output over a
single-cable interface |
|
The
only Camera Link model to offer in-camera Bayer colour interpolation |
|
The
most advanced channel-balancing capability in the current market
(best multi-tap image fidelity) |
Core
features
Leveraging a Kodak quad-tap CCD sensor, both versions
of the camera are capable of providing full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080,
monochrome or Bayer, at 64 frames-per-second without compromising image
quality.
The cameras feature user-configurable AOI scanning (partial scanning),
horizontal and vertical binning modes (AM-201CL), and a variety of acquisition
modes, including continuous, single-frame, and multi-frame capture. Advanced
image pre-processing features range from auto-gain, auto-shutter, and
pixel blemish compensation, to flat-field compensation, and a 256-point
look-up table for gamma customization.
The Camera Link advantage
While competitor models also offer cameras built around this specific
2-megapixel quad-tap CCD, JAI are one of very few Camera Link
models currently available in the market, the advantage of Camera
Link being that 2 megapixels at 64 fps requires considerable data bandwidth
and Camera Link's performance capabilities enable it to support the required
data rate over a standard base configuration.
The CCD's quad-tap architecture captures the image then combines the four
taps into two for monochrome or Bayer readouts or one-tap for RGB readout
over the simple, one-cable configuration. Image quality is not compromised
due to an advanced automatic channel-balancing algorithm that continuously
adjusts gain and offset to provide seamless result (even under changing
lighting conditions) that surpass the typical one-time balancing of other
multi-tap cameras. Output can be 8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit for monochrome
or raw Bayer modes, and 8-bit-per-colour (24-bit) in RGB mode. The colour
model (AB 201CL) can be set to perform internal 3 x 3 color interpolation
to generate 24-bit RGB output at 32 frames-per-second for full resolution
images.
Industrial-grade construction
Like JAI's other high-resolution cameras, both models incorporate
a list of industrial-grade features to maximize performance in machine
vision environments. These features include a variety of thermal management
features (ridged housings, heat sinks, internal temperature sensor) as
well as extensive shock and vibration testing performed.
Applications
Applications for these cameras include a broad range of industrial,
medical or entertainment applications where the wide field-of-view and
high frame rate are useful for capturing high-resolution images of fast-moving
objects.
The various auto-shutter, auto-gain and auto-iris capabilities also make
these cameras suitable for a variety of outdoor applications.
